Okay, so, today I wanted to mess around with tarot cards. I’ve always been curious about them, you know? They look so mysterious and all. So I finally decided to give it a shot. First, I got myself a deck online. I did some quick searching and chose one that looked nice, a classic one called Rider-Waite. I heard it’s good for beginners, so that was perfect for me.
When the deck arrived, I was super excited. I opened it up and just looked at all the cards. Each one had a different picture, and they were all pretty detailed. I spent some time just getting familiar with them, shuffling them around and feeling the texture. There were 78 cards total, which felt like a lot at first.
Then I started reading about how to actually use them. I learned that the deck is divided into two main parts: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana has these big, important-looking cards with names like “The Magician” and “The Empress.” The Minor Arcana is more like regular playing cards, divided into four suits: Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles.
Next, I tried to understand the order of the cards. It seemed a bit complicated, but I found some info online that said the Major Arcana cards have a specific order, starting with “The Fool” and ending with “The World.” The Minor Arcana suits also have an order, apparently based on some old philosophy, with Wands first, then Cups, then Swords, and finally Pentacles.
My First Reading
After getting a basic idea of the order, I decided to try a simple reading. I just pulled one card from the deck and tried to connect its meaning to what’s going on in my life right now. This was actually pretty fun and made me think. It’s amazing how just one card can have so many different interpretations.
- I started with a simple one-card draw.
- I focused on interpreting the card’s meaning.
- I reflected on how it might relate to my current situation.
It was a good start, I think. I’m definitely going to keep practicing and maybe try some more complex readings with multiple cards later on. It’s all a bit overwhelming, but it’s also really interesting and kind of a fun way to do some self-reflection.
