Okay, so I had this thing I wanted to try out with my tarot cards. I was feeling all inspired to blog about the Knight of Pentacles, but not just the usual stuff. I’ve been trying to figure out how to use this card as a guide for, like, actually doing things, you know? Not just what it means, but how to be it.
So, I started by really looking at the card. I mean, really looking. I pulled out my favorite deck and spread out all the cards on my living room floor. I spent a good hour just staring at the artwork, getting a feel for the vibe. The Knight of Pentacles, he’s not dashing off anywhere. He’s just there, solid, dependable.
Then, I did something a bit weird. I decided to embody that energy. I sat down on the floor, just like him on his horse. I imagined I was holding the pentacle. I tried to feel that stillness, that focus. I even tried to mimic his serious expression, I even tried to imitate the expression in the painting to feel his state of mind at that moment. It was kind of awkward, but also, strangely grounding. It was funny to be still and focus.
Next, I started thinking about my to-do list. Usually, it’s this huge, overwhelming thing. But I thought, “What would the Knight of Pentacles do?” He wouldn’t freak out. He’d just pick one thing, the most important thing, and focus on that. So I did. I chose one task that I’d been putting off, a blog post outline that I’d been avoiding. It’s a real hard thing that I haven’t finished for a long time.
- I broke it down into smaller steps.
- I set a timer.
- I worked on it without getting distracted.
It was surprisingly effective. I actually made some progress! I even managed to get a good chunk of it done. I just moved slowly and gradually and tried my best to finish the task. It was so tiring but I’m so happy. I can feel I’m one step closer to my goal.
My Results
This whole experiment, it taught me that the Knight of Pentacles isn’t just about being slow and steady. It’s about being intentional. It’s about choosing your battles and seeing them through. That’s the kind of action I want to cultivate in my life. I made up my mind to practice more and more. And, I’m going to keep practicing this “Knight of Pentacles as action” thing. I think it could be a real game-changer for me. Maybe I can finally finish my work on time!
