Yesterday, I had a really fun time playing around with tarot cards. I’m a total newbie when it comes to this stuff, but I’ve always been kind of curious. So, I thought, why not give it a shot? I went out and bought my first tarot deck. They had a bunch of different ones, but I picked one that just felt right in my hands.

Once I got home, I opened the box and started to look through the cards. Each one has such cool artwork on it, and I spent a good amount of time just admiring them. After that, I decided to try a simple “make a wish” reading for myself. I’d heard about it from a friend, and it seemed like a good way to dip my toes into the tarot world.
The Reading Process
First, I shuffled the deck while thinking about a wish I had. I made sure to really focus on it, like my friend told me. Then, I cut the deck into three piles and picked one.
- Fanned out the cards from the pile I picked.
- Closed my eyes and ran my fingers over the cards.
- Stopped when I felt a pull towards one card and picked it.
The card I ended up drawing was the “Wheel of Fortune.” Honestly, I didn’t know what it meant at first, but the booklet that came with the deck explained it. It’s all about change, cycles, and new beginnings. I have to say, it felt pretty spot-on for my wish, which was about starting a new project. It was cool to see how the card seemed to relate to what I was thinking.
After the reading, I took some time to journal about it. I wrote down the wish I had in mind, the card I drew, and what I thought it might mean for me. This whole tarot thing seems like a really neat way to reflect on things and maybe get some guidance. I’m definitely going to keep practicing and learning more about it. It’s like a fun little adventure, you know?
