Okay, so the other day I was thinking about how to get into this whole astrology tarot thing, and I decided to try out an “astrology tarot spread” just to see what it was all about. I’m no expert, but I’ve always been a little curious about tarot and how it works, you know?
First, I did a bit of digging online to find a spread that wasn’t too complicated. I mean, there are tons of them out there, some with like a million cards, but I wanted something simple to start with. I ended up finding one that just used four cards – seemed easy enough. It was one of those four-card spreads, they’re supposed to be good for beginners like me, not too overwhelming and it can help people like me get used to how the cards work together.
Then, I grabbed my tarot deck – it’s just a basic Rider-Waite deck I picked up a while back. I shuffled the cards while thinking about a question I had. I didn’t want to do a yes/no question because I read that tarot isn’t really about that. It’s more about exploring the situation, I guess. My question was pretty general, something like, “What do I need to know about my current path?” Basic, I know, but I figured it was a good starting point.
After shuffling, I laid out the four cards according to the spread I found. Each position was supposed to represent something different: like, the first card was about the overall theme, the second was about challenges, the third was advice, and the fourth was the potential outcome.

I flipped over the first card, and it was the “The Lovers”. I looked up the meaning online and in the little booklet that came with the deck. It talked about choices and relationships. I thought about it for a bit and how it might relate to my question. The next card was “Ten of Swords”, which sounded kind of scary with its talk of endings and betrayal. But I figured it might mean I needed to let go of something that wasn’t working for me. The third card, the advice card, was “The Empress”, which seemed more positive – it was all about nurturing and growth. Made sense, I guess. And finally, the outcome card was “The Star”, which was also pretty hopeful, with themes of inspiration and new beginnings.
Honestly, the whole thing was pretty interesting. It wasn’t like the cards gave me a super clear answer or anything. But they did give me some things to think about. Like, maybe I need to make some tough choices about what I’m focusing on and let go of some things that are holding me back. And maybe if I focus on nurturing the right things, I can find some new inspiration and move forward in a positive way.
It was a fun little experiment. I don’t know if I’m a total tarot believer now or anything, but it was definitely a cool way to reflect on things. Maybe I’ll try another spread sometime soon. I am thinking about trying a more complex spread next time. I saw a few that involved more cards, and I’m kind of curious to see how that goes.
